The Novels of Belkin

Compiled based on the literature reading programs of primary and secondary schools. The works are published without abridgment.

The cycle consists of five novellas, united by the image of a fictional narrator - Ivan Petrovich Belkin. They present different life situations: love, chance, honor, revenge, and fate.

The plots vary from romantic to ironic:

• a duel that ends unexpectedly;
• a tragic story of a caretaker and his daughter;
• love misunderstandings leading to a happy ending;
• a circumstance that changes the fates of the characters.

Common in the novellas are simple people, the influence of chance, and the author's gentle irony.
