The Captive of the Caucasus

The collection, published in the series «School Library» by the publisher «Omega», features stories and a novella by the classic of Russian literature L. N. Tolstoy.
All the works in the collection are thematically connected and tell about various aspects of life in the Russian army of the 19th century – about social inequality among the military, the full deprivation and humiliation of being in captivity, about the steadfastness of spirit and military honor, about spiritual and moral issues in the officer corps, and about the cruel treatment of lower ranks.
