The famous novel by Russian and Soviet writer Veniamin Kaverin tells the true and captivating story of explorer-travelers, about the loyalty and determination of the main character in the search for the lost expedition of Captain Tatarinov.
It all began with... accidentally found waterlogged letters. One day, Sanya Grigoryev and his friend Petka fished out a postman's bag from the river, which contained several letters from the participants of the polar expedition. Some of them were readable, and Sanya memorized them all. Later, it became clear that the expedition had disappeared - and by a remarkable turn of events, the entire future life of Alexander would be connected with the vanished expedition and its captain Ivan Tatarinov. He will go through all the difficult trials and dangers, separations and defeats, but he will keep the vow made in childhood: "To struggle and seek, to find and not to give up".

This poignant and inspiring story of courage, love, and friendship is illustrated by the young talented artist Pyotr Lyubaev.
