The wonderful Russian writer M. M. Prishvin was in love with nature. He admired its majesty and beauty, studied the behavior of forest animals, and could captivatingly and very kindly tell about it. His short stories, written in simple and understandable language, are addressed to the "child living in us from early childhood to old age." They will reveal the secrets of nature to young readers, teach them to love their native land and understand its beauty, to think deeply and attentively about the surrounding world, and to be kind and responsive. The works are included in the school curriculum and are addressed to young and middle school age children. The texts are presented unabridged, printed on good paper in large font, and contain color illustrations by Z. Yarina.
