In the days before the New Year, dramatic events unfold in the very center of Makhachkala: several people clash with a large construction company, law enforcement agencies, and the city administration, defending a tree — the tallest beech in Europe, which is set to be cut down to build an office center in its place. Agree, there is something in this plot that many find familiar... Will a handful of brave individuals be able to save the tree, and how will the lives of the story's heroes — both positive and notorious villains — change in those few days?
