In his office, Vladimir Ignatov, the director of the liquor plant, was killed with a shotgun sawed-off. Interior Ministry colonels Gurov and Kryachko are putting forward two versions of what happened. The first: a workplace conflict – one of the dismissed workers threatened Ignatov with retaliation. And the second: revenge from disgruntled accomplices of the director, who participated with him in the embezzlement of the factory’s products… Moreover, the detectives were also interested in Ignatov's suddenly disappeared mistress, whom he had carefully hidden. But these versions fell away on their own when the husband of this individual was found outside the city, shot dead… with the same sawed-off shotgun that Ignatov was killed with.
