Krylov's fables have been familiar to us since childhood – even before they were assigned for memorization in school, we often heard the now-turned expressions without even suspecting that they were from Krylov's fables: "And Vasya listens, but eats," "And the cart is still there," "Did you sing all? That's the deal: then go ahead, dance!", "And you, friends, no matter how you sit down, you are not fit for musicians." Quotes from the fables of the great Russian fabulist have so naturally entered our lives and our language that they have become part of our culture.
