Katherine is the main character of Jane Austen's novel "Northanger Abbey" - she is fascinated by the works of Ann Radcliffe and often imagines that she lives in one of them. Therefore, the naive girl perceives everything through the lens of her fantasies, and everywhere she sees terrible secrets.
