Christmas stories in Russian literature are a nearly forgotten phenomenon. Christmas stories traditionally feature miracles, and the heroes joyfully undertake the difficult and beautiful work of love, overcoming obstacles, and often the schemes of the "unclean forces".
This book collects Christmas stories by classical writers such as Bestuzhev-Marlin, Gogol, Leskov, Shmelev, and stories by contemporary prose writers.
