The fourth book in the series about Anne Shirley, a novel in epistolary form.  
Gilbert proposes to Anne, and she accepts. But the happy wedding moment is postponed for three years while Gilbert continues his studies at university, and Anne... secures a position at a school in the town of Summerside. She not only teaches at the school but also takes on the role of principal, which is challenging enough, and it also draws her into a confrontation with the influential Pringle family in town. Anne has to earn the friendship and respect of her colleagues while uncovering many secrets of the local residents... Throughout all three years, Anne writes her fiancé touching letters about her relationships with new acquaintances and the stories she has found herself participating in, whether willingly or unwillingly. 
The novels about Anne Shirley are a classic coming-of-age story with its ups and downs, sorrows and joys. In 2017, a very heartfelt series "Anne" was released, based on the series of novels about Anne.
