This publication is the most well-known work of the German psychologist and physiologist, the founder of developmental psychology, Thierie William Preyer (1841–1897), which brought him wide recognition ("Die Seele des Kindes", 1882), in which he presented observations of his son... from birth to three years old. The book features a strictly scientific approach and highlights the stages of development of the senses, motor skills, will, thinking, and speech in a child. This work by T.W. Preyer laid the foundation for systematic research aimed at establishing the main patterns and characteristics of personality formation from the earliest years.
